Peak season:

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

Madeira Airport (FNC) is situated on the east coast of the island 12 miles from Funchal. Its unique runway is famously supported by a series of stilts and extends into the ocean. Once your flight has landed the quickest way to reach the city is to take the Aero-bus, a frequent express service that takes 20 minutes and only costs a few Euros. Alternatively taxis are available outside Arrivals. A rental car service has a desk at the airport and can also be booked online before you arrive.
